She will update us on the Health of Santa Cruz County residents.

We are also pleased to welcome John Leopold who will present on an upcoming "Santa Cruz County Safe Drinking Water, Clean Beaches, Wildfire Risk Reduction and Wildlife Protection Act."

And, we are delighted to welcome Dan Haifley.  Dan is working on an inclusive playground at Jade Street Park called Treasure Cove.

The Mid County Democratic Club will hear from Mid County Supervisor candidates in District 1 that includes Soquel and Live Oak areas.  We will also hear from District 2 candidates, which includes parts of Corralitos, Watsonville, La Selva Beach, Aptos, and Capitola.

Marcus Pimentel will present Measure N, the Pajaro Valley Care District Bond, as well as Measure K, the Santa Cruz County Sales and Use Tax.

Please feel free to register below and bring a friend. Heather Rogers was selected as our first in-house County Public Defender.

Join us as we hear about the first-year successes and challenges of working in the public safety system. Heather has taken the lead in prioritizing Diversity Equity and Inclusion, early representation, diversion and supportive services for system-impacted residents of Santa Cruz County. 

The Public Defender's office will be key in implementing CARE Court system in 2024. 

There will be Q and A at our informal fireside chat.

Doors open at 6:00 pm, meeting at 6:30 pm.

The next Mid County Democratic Club meeting falls on December 12, which is close to holidays. We are still deciding about holding a meeting in December for obvious reasons.

Sergeant Zach West is assigned to the newly re-opened Aptos Substation near New Leaf Market. Zach was raised in San Lorenzo and will share with us what inspired him to become a Sheriff Deputy.
